Globalization

Globalisation is a system where social mobility, competition and technological services have much power. It is characterized by the globalization of trade, investment, finance, labour knowledge and technology. In this system the most striking effects are: to have, to possess, to dominate and at the same time gaining knowledge, openness and solidarity. It essentially signifies the emergence of a seamless and borderless economy. In some cases it deepens the problem of poverty, unemployment, inequalities, marginalization and exploitation.

School Objectives

Today’s world has unique challenges facing the present and the future workforce. Therefore, the students will be helped to know how globalization relates to: educational facilities, migration, development, trade, human rights, culture, energy and environment.

Action Plan
1. Guide the students to speak for themselves, to denounce injustice, not in a spirit of vengeance but in order to change structures.
2. Debates, Elocution, Creative Writing, Poster Making, Painting, Exhibition, etc. may be conducted in school to enlighten the students and to promote awareness.
3. Use of modern technology to bring home the effects of globalization and the challenges they will face.
4. Practical and project works related to globalization and environment.
5. Regular Social Services and Charity Drives.
6. Surveys related to terrorism, human trafficking, misuse of technology, agrarian distress and the various types of pollution in the country.

Information Technology

Focus :

In using Information technology our focus will be, to produce, manipulate, store, communicate and/or disseminate information for the betterment of all.

Emphasis :
1. To make use of these as a source of spiritual growth in order to solve human problems, to promote the integral development of persons and to create a world governed by justice and peace.
2. To use them as a means of promoting a culture of respect, dialogue and friendship as opposed to self-interest and anti-social activities.
3. As a means of formation and information to promote excellence in all fields of knowledge, namely: the increased availability of information in all spheres of enquiry – biological, physical, geological, economic, etc. can be used most effectively in an academic context.

Possibilities :

1. The use of Modern equipment relevant to classroom environment and requirement.
2. Training programmes by specialized resource persons for students and teachers.
3. Provide more opportunities for practical and project works using modern technology.

Pro-Life Activities

Statement of Purpose :

The first and fundamental step towards cultural transformation consists in forming consciences with regard to the incomparable and inviolable worth of every human being. Closely connected with the formation of consciences is the worth of education which helps individuals to be even more human, leads them evermore fully to the truth, instills in them a growing respect for life and trains them in right interpersonal relationships. Our education and information will address particularly the threat to the sanctity and respect for all human life, i.e. abortion; euthanasia; discrimination; exclusion; neglect of health; abuse of women and children; men, women and child trafficking; etc.

Objectives :
Our school seeks:
1. To build a culture of life by a general mobilization of consciences and a united ethical effort to activate a great campaign in support of life.
2. To foster awareness of the need to restore protection to the unborn and to safeguard the lives of those who are ill, disabled or dying.
3. To develop a deep critical sense, capable of discerning true values and authentic needs.

Action Plan :
1. Counselling
2. Workshops on Ethics and Value Education.
3. Video shows depicting various Pro-Life activities.
4. Exposure programmes. E.g. Visits to Hospitals, Prisons, Old-Age Homes, Rehabilitation Centers for Alcoholics and Drug Addicts, etc.
5. LTS, Guiding, Community Services.
6. Encourage and support Local Projects to help those who are ill, disabled or dying and their families.
